Rabada starts off with a wide outside off. Follows it up with another one outside off.
GT 108/4 in 16 overs: Two singles to start the over. Hundred up for Gujarat in 15.2 overs. FOUR! Slower one again outside off, Sudharsan ends up slicing in front of mid-off, where Rabada is in two minds and ends up misjudging it and allowing four runs. Arshdeep drags his length back outside off and two singles for the batters off the next two balls. A couple more to end the over as Sudharsan flicks it to square leg.

GT 83/4 in 13 overs: Slower bouncer from Rishi but down leg-side and wide called. Another slower one, short of a length, veering outside off and Sudharsan cuts it aerially to deep backward point for a couple. FOUR! Length on off stump and Sudharsan gets in line of the ball and punches this through mid-wicket for a boundary. Single to long-on next ball as it shoots up in the air a little dangerously. Full outside off and driven away by Tewatia for a single at deep point. Clipped to square leg for a single off the last ball.
GT 73/4 in 12 overs: Livingstone continues. On a length, sprayed on the pads and Miller punches off the backfoot for a couple. OUT! The off-spinner to left-hander matchup finally pays off. Miller wants to clear the long-off boundary but ends up slicing it to the fielder in the deep. Liam Livingstone c Kagiso Rabada b Liam Livingstone 11(14b 0x4 0x6). Tewatia is in and starts off with a single off a full on the legs. FOUR! Sudharsan gets down to sweep this from outside off to the fine-leg boundary. Single and dot to end the over. Tewatia is fuming as his partner sends him back from halfway down the pitch, almost resulting in a run out.

GT 62/3 in 10 overs: Chahar into the attack. On a length, sliding outside off and Sudharsan punches it off the backfoot straight to mid-off. A couple next ball as Sudharsan flicks this through leg-side. Shorter and turning outside off again and punched to cover for another dot ball. Chahar seems to have hurt his hand and is off the field. Livingstone will complete the over. Two more for Sudharsan as he cuts it to deep point. A single as Sudharsan tucks it off his hips. Miller keeps strike with a single off the final ball.
GT 56/3 in 9 overs: Rishi continues. Full on leg-stump and Miller shimmies slightly and tucks it to mid-wicket for two. Sharp save in the deep by Rabada prevents the boundary. Two length balls on middle and leg-stump and Sudharsan tucks it for a single at mid-wicket. Miller drives the next one through covers for one more. One more to end the over.
GT 50/3 in 8 overs: Livingstone with the ball. Sudharsan defends the first one. A single at long-off for one. Two more dots follow. A couple more as Sudharsan drives again to long-off. Single to end.
GT 46/3 in 7 overs: Rishi Dhawan is into the attack and the protective shield is back. Wide down leg side first ball. OUT! Nicked behind and Hardik is on his way back. It was full on a fourth stump line, Hardik gets an outside edge trying through the covers. Hardik Pandya c Jitesh Sharma b Rishi Dhawan 1(7b). Two dot balls for Miller. He flicks the next one behind square leg to get off the mark with a single. Full on the pads and Sudharsan dugs it out for a single more.
GT 42/2 in 6 overs: Arshdeep into the attack. Sudharshan hangs back and cuts behind point again for a single. Wide down leg-side. Angling it across to Hardik, full outside off and pushed to cover for a dot ball. Another good-length ball, angling across just outside off and punched off the backfoot to cover. Hardik still to get off the mark after four balls. This one is full outside off, Hardik leans into the drive but a sharp save at short mid-off denies him a run. Length ball, angling on the stumps and Hardik guides it to point for one. Single to end the over.
GT 38/2 in 5 overs: Sandeep continues. Full outside off, Sudharsan gets an outside edge on the drive but it drops short of the slip catcher. Wide down leg next ball. Two dot balls as Sharma keeps it on a length outside off and Sudharsan fails to clear the off-side field. Cuts this time behind point and gets a couple. Pushes to point for a single and Hardik defends the last ball outside off.
GT 34/2 in 4 overs: Saha misses this length ball from Rabada and cops it on his thigh pad. FOUR! Full toss on the pads and pulled way to the fine-leg boundary. Fuller outside off and Saha lofts this on the off-side for a couple. SIX! Full, closer to off stump and muscled over long-on. OUT! Boom and bust! Saha goes for the lofted cover on the full delivery outside off but finds the fielder at mid-off. Wriddhiman Saha c Mayank Agarwal b Kagiso Rabada 21(17b 3×4 1×6).
GT 22/1 in 3 overs: OUT! Bull’s eye from Rishi and Gill is short of the crease. He tapped to mid-off and took on the fielder but Rishi Dhawan was spot-on with his direct-throw aiming at a single stump. Shubman Gill run out (Rishi Dhawan) 9(6b 2×4). FOUR! Too full from Sharma outside off and Saha thumps this down the ground for a boundary. The ball is just short of hitting the cushion on the full. Sharma slows it down and Saha defends. Saha pushes to mid-off and takes a risky single. It looked like a perfect repetition of the Gill dismissal would follow but Rishi Dhawan decided not to throw the ball this time around.
GT 17/0 in 2 overs: Rabada from the other end. On the money first ball. On a length, angling in and Gill gets a faint leading edge trying to work it on the leg-side. FOUR! Too straight, angling down leg, and Gill flicks it behind square. FOUR! Lucky but gets the desired result. Thick inside edge, rolls in front of the stumps and runs away to the fine-leg fence. Beaten! Gill steps out and misses this short of length ball outside off. Taps to mid-off next ball and hares for a single. FOUR! Saha in top form. Times this punch past mid-on to perfection and finds the boundary.
GT 4/0 in 1 over: Saha and Gill are out in the middle. Sandeep Sharma will open the bowling. Wide outside off and Saha lets it go. FOUR! Similar line outside off and Saha drives it crisply through the covers for a boundary. Slightly closer to the stumps, still outside off and Saha defends. A bit shorter this time outside off, Saha hops to cut it but finds the fielder at covers. Two more dots to end the over. Extra bounce outside off keeps Saha on his toes, both figuratively and literally.
Gujarat Titans becomes the first team to bat first twice after winning the toss. However, the openers will have their task cut out against a potent bowling attack. It doesn’t help that Shubman Gill, who is coming off a poor run of form, has an unfavourable match up Kagiso Rabada – 20 runs in 32 balls with two dismissals.

IPL 2022 AT DY PATIL STADIUM (RESULTS)
Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by five wickets
Gujarat Titans beat Kolkata Knight Riders by eight runs
Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by three wickets
Lucknow Super Giants beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 18 runs
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings by seven wickets
The last time Gujarat Titans faced Punjab Kings in an Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture, Rahul Tewatia hit two sixes off the last two deliveries to seal the deal for the new entrant.
And when the two teams meet at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday, Gujarat Titans, which has won eight out of nine games, will once again be pinning its hopes on Tewatia. After being roped in by the Titans for a whopping Rs 9 crore in the auction, the all-rounder from Haryana has justified his price tag, emerging as one of the match-winners for the franchise.
The Titans have fired in every department, under the watchful eyes of captain Hardik Pandya. While Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill have made their presence felt as openers, the middle-order has been solid with Hardik, David Miller and Rashid Khan. Coming into the tournament after a long break, Hardik has so far amassed 308 runs in the tournament and has led the side from the front.
Punjab Kings, on the other hand, has been inconsistent with five defeats in nine outings and it needs to regroup in a bid to stay in contention for the playoffs. Even though skipper Mayank Agarwal, batters Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone have done well in patches, and their lack of consistency has been a concern.
While pacer Arshdeep Singh has impressed, the seasoned campaigners Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar need to shoulder more responsibility and be consistent.
